These lightweight Matrix pants combine style and performance, ideal for hiking and outdoor adventures in spring and summer.

Combining performance with a classic jeans button fastening, belt loops, and four pocket design, the Capstone Pants are extremely versatile. Excelling outdoors but suitable for everyday wear, they are made from a lightweight, breathable, and flexible Matrix™ fabric.

Treated with a fluorocarbon free DWR, they are weather resistant and fast drying, ideal for spring and summer adventures. They are stretchy throughout with an articulated design and long length gusset, offering a wide range of movement for tackling steep climbs and scrambles. Functional and stylish, they have two front hand pockets and two large back pockets.

Our Verdict

Rab’s Capstone Shorts are a bit more of a heavier Pants compared to others in their range however they still remain perfect for summer and spring Trekking or just as a casual pair of trousers. 

The Matrix™ stretch fabric offers such a superb range of movement, which means that you can move about all day without feeling any restriction to your movement while wearing them, it feels very comfortable against the skin so there is no potential chafing or discomfort while wearing them for long activity days.

The Matrix fabric on the Capstone is slightly heavier than that of other pants such as the Incline but this means that they are more durable when tackling more challenging terrain or activity. 

The pockets on the Capstone are more of a traditional style so less secure than a zipped pocket but offer a generous amount of room despite being more of the casual wear design.
