Petzl’s ZIPKA 300 lumens is a fantastic lightweight LED head torch for camping, hiking and night time exploring. The self adjusting retractable cord make it really adaptable as it quickly and easily fits to anything you can get the cord round.

Simple and ultra-compact, the ZIPKA headlamp offers 300 lumen brightness and a flood beam for proximity lighting and some movement. Its self-adjusting retractable cord, a Petzl patent, makes it extremely compact, and offers several possibilities for wearing or mounting. It is useful for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking or when traveling. The phosphorescent reflector helps you find it in the dark, and the red lighting prevents members of a group from blinding each other. ZIPKA is also compatible with the CORE rechargeable battery, thanks to the HYBRID CONCEPT design.

Our Verdict

Petzl’s ZIPKA 300 lumens Headlamp is a light-weight and powerful head torch with Petzl’s innovative retractable cord making it quick and easy to put on your head, other peoples heads, your wrist, tree branch etc. The cord makes the head torch lighter than if used the more usual headband. This updated version of the Zipka has an extra 100 Lumens of brightness over its predecessor.

With a single button its simplicity itself to cycle through the three white lighting levels and red lighting mode which preserves your night vision and doesn’t impair other peoples vision. A cool feature is the phosphorescent reflector making locating in the dark easy. It blends compact design and styling with the flexibility to use batteries (included) or Petzl’s rechargeable Core battery. A great item to take camping, hiking and night time exploring.
