Our Verdict

Outdoor Research’s Ferrosi 10″ Shorts are extremely lightweight (even lighter than the previous version) yet rugged shorts that breathe incredibly well. The stretch fabric will move comfortably with your body, no matter what the activity and the soft shell fabric is not as rough as most soft shell’s so it feels comfortable against your skin.

It features plenty of pockets, two on the front, two on the back and one zippered thigh pocket which is perfect for small valuables. As the shorts are water and wind resistant, they would be perfect for hiking, backpacking and cycling in light rain and snow.
