Lightweight, waterproof and breathable, these gaiters offer some serious protection when you know the weather is taking a turn.
Outdoor Research says
Lightweight GORE-TEX protection with elastic around hem to fit different profiles of boots. Evolved from a pair of our longtime favorites, the Cascadia II Gaiters provide essential waterproof GORE-TEX protection with a durable upper leg panel and packcloth lower leg panel. An elastic hem helps with a snug fit to keep pesky debris from entering your footwear – whether you’re wearing heavy boots, lightweight hikers, or minimalist trail runners.
Our Verdict
Constructed with a 70d nylon, 3-layer Gore-Tex membrane these gaiters offer some serious protection. That’s not to say they aren’t supple and malleable, I often find waterproof gators to be very rigid and often very, very sweaty, but these gaiters don’t suffer with that problem at all.
The lower portion of the gaiter is reinforced in the areas you will experience more scrapes and scuffs. The front of the gaiter had a reinforced boot lace hook to cinch the gaiter and shoe together.
The Hypalon Instep Strap is very durable, as well as flexible and can be replaced if needed.
