Our Verdict

A light and durable winter running shoe that could be used as a trail running or approach shoe all year. La Sportiva, as you would expect have created a fantastic blend of hard-wearing, yet comfortable shoe that offers incredible grip thanks to the FriXion soul, this provides the boot with the perfect combination of grip, long-lasting wear, and shock absorption. The 5mm lugs mean the boots have some level of adaptability regardless of what the trail has in store for you. With these boots, you also have the option to attach La Sportivas AT Grip Spikes providing excellent grip in icy conditions or snowy mountain trails forgoing the need for additional microspikes.

The Quick lace system provides good protection and means your laces won’t become a tripping hazard and the Gortex membrane means your feet will be dry regardless of what the weather or terrain can throw at you. A fantastic off-road running shoe, in any weather, on any trail.

 The integrated Sock-Shield Gaiter is a fantastic addition to this shoe, comfortably eliminating any gaps, rocks, mud, snow or sand could enter the boot, preventing you from having to stop and remove them, potentially saving you crucial time in a race.
