The Cloud Peak is a solid glove designed to protect you from the harshest conditions. With Gore-Tex providing the warm, waterproof technology and durable construction throughout this is a serious glove.

Extremities says

A high specification warm and waterproof winter glove. Durably waterproof, windproof and breathable with GORE-TEX technology. The glove has 10oz synthetic insulation and a soft brushed lining which keep hands toasty warm in cold conditions. The supple leather palm and fingers extends to the forchettes and has extra reinforcement around the thumb crotch area for added durability – ideal for trekking or ski poles. The leather detailing crosses the knuckle area and finger tips for extra protection against scuffs and the suedette finish on the back of the thumb has been designed for wiping goggles or glasses. To keep out draughts there’s an easy to use one handed pull cord at the cuff. An ideal winter walking or skiing glove.

Our Verdict

Extremities Cloud Peak GTX Glove provide you with all the protection you need to tackle the worst winter conditions. They are instantly warm, use a Gore-Tex lining to provide reliable waterproofing and the durable reinforced leather in all the high wear areas. These gloves are great for really bad conditions but overkill for general everyday use.

They are designed to allow the user to wear a liner glove when using them. Where I would normally wear an X-Large in gloves, if i wanted to wear just these without a liner I would choose the Large. There are a couple of little niggles for me such as the lining which, although soft doesn’t feel particularly nice. Also, a leash would have been useful for particularly challenging conditions.
