Our Verdict

A solid all-rounder, good protection from the elements, light, breathable and environmentally conscious. Its waterproofing is down to the 2-layer Gore-Tex membrane laminated to the polyester outer; this makes the jacket very durable and is brilliant at shedding water. It can pack down incredibly small, stash in your bag, and be forgotten about when not in use thanks to its low weight.

The hood fits well and has 3 points of adjustment, meaning you get a tailored fit with a stiffened peak to keep the rain out of your eyes. The cuffs and hem are adjustable, the cuffs with Velcro and the hem with an elasticated drawcord, this helps with “draught-proofing” and also ventilation.I used this jacket with a thin base layer and thin fleece and it fitted brilliantly, not too baggy, but not too constrictive either. Will get lots of use in the British summertime.
